Rose Parade Float -
The Tournament of
Roses Parade has been chosen as the official kick-off to the Boy
Scouts of America’s 100th anniversary celebration.
A very special opportunity for recent
Eagle Scouts/Venturing Silver Award recipients to be a part of the
100th BSA anniversary celebration and participate in the 2010 Rose
Parade by walking the entire 5 ½ mile Tournament of Roses parade
route in full uniform right next to the 2010 BSA Rose Parade Float.
It is yet to be determined how many of LAAC scouts will be carrying
state flags, or merit badge signs, or other TBD signs.
Eagle
Scout/Venturing Silver Award 2010 Rose Parade Float Walkers – must
have earned their Eagle Scout/Venturing Silver Award Rank between
September 1, 2008 to September 1, 2009. They also must be prepared
to participate in all the practices and events the week of December
28, 2009-January 1, 2010 and be able to physically walk the entire 5
½ mile parade route.
There will be a
TBD fee charged to cover the expenses (special 2010 troop patches,
rose parade epaulets, special neckerchief, and meals). This
information will be available at time of interview in September 2009
(9/12/09 or 9/19/09).
